“PianoMen” Concert at Northview Wednesday, October 27

'PianoMen' is an evening of Billy Joel and Elton John featuring Kelly Carey ('96) and Ryan Potts ('97)

Tickets are $5 for students and children, $10 for adults and senior citizens (discounted from Circle Theatre's price of $25). Tickets may be purchased at the door the evening of the event at 6:30 p.m. or by calling 365-6114. Tickets go on sale October 11.

NHS Alumni, Kelly Carey ('96) and Ryan Potts ('97) will give an encore performance of this concert that sold out at Circle Theatre back in September! Armed with a three-piece band, Kelly and Ryan breathe their own musical life into classic Billy and Elton hits like: Tiny Dancer, Just the Way You Are, Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me, Movin' Out, Crocodile Rock, New York State of Mine, Rocketman, and many more!

Native American History - ALIVE!

Kent District Library, in partnership with the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, presents a program to celebrate Native American Heritage Month that will include storytelling, dance, and lessons on everyday life. This is a great program for homeschoolers! Registration is required and participation is limited. For ages 6 and up.

Grand Rogue Encampment coming to Belmont

If you drive on West River Drive west of Northland, you will see a small sign announcing that there will be an historic encampment coming on September 18th and 19th.

The Grand Rogue Campground at the confluence of the Rogue and Grand Rivers will host the living history weekend event, sponsored by West Michigan Living History.

According to the group's website, "At the Grand Rogue Encampment, history buffs from all over the Midwest, wearing authentic period clothing and living in period shelters, will present programs throughout the weekend.  Activities will include musket and cannon firing, men's and women's period fashion shows, and tactical demonstrations."

Activities will run from 10am to 5pm on Saturday the 18th and 9:30 to 4pm on Sunday the 19th.

Cornwell’s Dinner Theatre in Turkeyville, MI presents “Smoke on the Mountain.” Set in the 1930s, this musical tale introduces the singing Sanders family who perform their traditional “Amazing Grace,” “I’ll Fly Away,” and bluegrass gospel songs. $69 pp. It’s on Wednesday, September 15.
