Flat River Library Special Event November 18, 2014

If you are looking for an interesting and informative evening, plan on attending this event in Greenville, MI on November 18th at the Flat River Library, located at 200 W. Judd from 6 – 8pm.

Michigan’s Orphan Train is about 12,500 orphans from New York City and the Boston area, who were taken from the streets and placed in Michigan from 1854 – 1927. Many of these children were never actually adopted but were used as teenage labor.

Join in the research with historians and television producers, Al and David Eicher, who will share details about this obscure time in Michigan’s history.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Flat River Community Library. Admission is free but if you would like more information, contact Tim West at gretjw@flatriverlibrary.org
