My Town Plainfield: Public hearing over sewer system upgrades June 12
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich.—The public is encouraged to attend a hearing June 12 to weigh in on proposed upgrades to the township’s sewer system.
The $6 million project would include:
- Constructing approximately 6,000 feet of 12‐inch sanitary sewer and installing new manholes from Ten Mile Road to the Childsdale Avenue area.
- Removing and replacing six northerly trunk sewer inverted siphons located under the Rogue River with river crossing pipe.
- Improve flood protection at the Forest Ridge Lift Station.
- Improve the collection system at the Comstock Park Area Trunk Sewer.
The project would lead to higher operation and maintenance costs for the fiscal year, costing each resident an additional $2.40 per month.
