LANSING, Mich.The Michigan State Medical Society recently completed its annual House of Delegates Meeting where local physicians from across Michigan were elected to influential leadership positions within the organization.

In addition to the selection of James D. Grant, M.D., an Oakland County physician, as President of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS), new leaders include physicians from Grand Rapids, Lansing, Flint and metro Detroit.

“In these times of tremendous change in health care, physicians have to take the lead to ensure the needs and well-being of Michigan patients remains the focus of our health care system,” said Doctor Grant.  “These local physician leaders are already hard at work advocating for patients and representing the 15,000 physician members of the Michigan State Medical Society who work every day from the exam room to the operating suite and from Lansing to Washington, D.C., to put Michigan patients first.”

 

Local physicians elected to leadership positions within MSMS include:

  • President – James D. Grant, M.D., Royal Oak
  •  President-elect – Rose M. Ramirez, M.D., Belmont
  • Speaker, House of Delegates – Pino D. Colone, M.D., Novi
  •  Vice-Speaker, House of Delegates – Raymond R. Rudoni, M.D., Flint
  •  Chair, Board of Directors – David A. Share, M.D., M.P.H., Ann Arbor
  • Vice-Chair, Board of Directors – S. Bobby Mukkamala, M.D., Flint
  • Secretary, Board of Directors – John E. Billi, M.D., Ann Arbor
