My Town: Northview Public Schools to avoid snow day make-up

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich.— The students of Northview Public Schools won’t have to make up for the harsh winter that kept them away from school.

Governor Snyder recently signed into law the School Aid Supplement Bill that gives districts with more than 174 days on their academic calendar snow day relief, provided they met the required 1,098 hours of yearly instruction.  Northview has 176 days of classes scheduled, which exceeded the state minimum, even with the winter snow days.

The last day of school for students will be a half-day on Friday, June 6.
