Restaurant chain to open 13th location in G.R.

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- The former Blockbuster on Northland Drive will soon be a New Beginnings Restaurant.

This will be the chain's 13th location in West Michigan. New Beginnings Restaurants are family-owned and well known for their breakfast and lunch only dining.

NAI Wisinski of West Michigan broker Bill Tyson, representing the property owner, and Liberty Realty Corporation's Fred Otterbein, representing New Beginnings Restaurants, negotiated a long-term lease of 3,600 square feet at 5202 Northland Drive.

Renovations are currently underway, with an opening date set for late June.

Owner Doug Kacos' bought his first restaurant in Eastown in 1973, owning it for five years. In 1981, he bought his first New Beginnings. The name, refers to and was inspired by the new beginning for the husband and wife. Every few years since then, another location has opened.
