One person dead in early morning crash | News

PLAINFIELD TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - One person is dead after their car left the road and hit a tree early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened about 4:00am on Jericho Ave. NE, north of Peter Creek Drive NE in Plainfield Township.

Deputies from Kent County say that the driver was heading southbound at a high rate of speed in a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer when the vehicle slid sideways and left the road.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was in the vehicle.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash.

The victim's name is not being released until family has been notified.
