Determining your home's value before selling

Determining your home's value before selling

Knowing the value of your home is critical before putting it up for sale.

There are several ways to determine the value of your home.  Online resources such as Trulia, Zillow, Realtor.com and Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) will provide you with an estimate of the value of your home or your local market overall.  Here are the links to these calculators:

Sun Title Launches EZ-Read Title CommitmentTM for Property Owners, Realtors® and Lenders

Sun Title, one of Michigan’s leading title insurance agency and real estate services company, announced today the launch of the EZ-Read Title CommitmentTM, the first ever title insurance commitment created from the perspective of the customer instead of the title company.

As one of the most critical documents in a real estate transaction, the title commitment combines multiple documents including a record of transaction, liens, easements and more. The EZ-Read Title CommitmentTM was created by Sun Title after its owners recognized a critical client need for an easy-to-understand title document to assist homeowners, commercial property owners, Realtors and lenders as they navigate the real estate transaction process.

My Town: Construction on an upswing in Plainfield Township

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich.—Hammers and saws are busy once again in Plainfield Township, as home and business construction picks up with the improving economy.

“Plats of land that have been on hold for years are coming back to life this spring,” said Bill Fischer, community development director for Plainfield Township.  “Many of these plats already have the infrastructure built; subdivisions that have roads and utilities, water and sewer.  And now, finally, the builders are feeling confident in the market and moving forward with construction.”

From Jan. 1 through the month of April, construction crews worked on homes and businesses in the township totaling more than $5.5 million in value.  Fischer says the long winter delayed many building permit applications until late April, so that investment only reflected a few weeks of investments.
