GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—For Kimberly Adams and Reggy Short, next month’s finish line will mark the start of their lives together.

The couple plans to get married after crossing the finish line to the 2013 Michigan Titanium August 25.  Adams and Short’s relationship began with running; they met in a running club in Colorado more than two years ago and have completed more than 60 races together.  Short finally popped the question during the “Running of the Green” event in Colorado.  During the race, he gave Adams clues along the way, including a photo of Will Smith (will), a photo of Hugh Hefner (you), a photo of a scene from “Something About Mary” (marry) and a photo of him (me).  At the finish line, Short sprinted in front of Adams and got down on one knee for the official proposal.

The couple’s wedding after the Michigan Titanium is the first ceremony to be allowed at Versluis Park.
