CASCADE, MI – The icy roads made for a dangerous commute this morning.  Numerous accidents and slide outs were reported in Kent County.  A Forest Hills school bus was rear ended this morning on Cascade Road.  There were no reported injuries.  Cascade Road looked more like a skating rink as several cars skidded off the street in the morning commute. 

I-96 wasn’t much better.  Most drivers seemed to take the advice posted on the MDOT sign to slow down in slippery conditions.  A commute that normally takes 15 minutes took 45 minutes this morning as most motorists slowed down. 

There are still some power outages around the state after last night's storm. But according to Consumer's Energy, that number should be close to zero by the end of the day. Here's what is left around our WZZM13 My Town Communities among Consumer's Energy customers.
